Truck Demo
From MMWiki
The Truck Demo is the technical demonstration Angel Studios sent to Microsoft to demonstrate their racing game engine, and eventually became Midtown Madness.
Official Information
The following text is from an archived version of Angel Studios' website that describes this:
The Truck Demo
Angel Studios initially attracted the interest of Microsoft by showing a Truck Demo that Angel Studios created to demonstrate its advanced physics engine and exclusive real-time 3D software tools -- as they could be used for a racing game. In this demo, the realism of the vehicle physics and the interactivity of the environment encouraged Microsoft to back Angel Studios' development of a prototype game.
Other Information
This demonstration was run not on a PC, but on a system made by SGI. Because of this, the executable of the Truck Demo was not sent to Microsoft, but a video was shown instead.
Very little information is known about this demo, as the only place this demo was ever mentioned was on Angel Studios' website, which is now down indefinitely since the Rockstar Games buyout.
